Brain is a genius — genuinely, measurably, by any metric — and he spends every waking moment constructing elaborate plans to seize control of a world he is convinced needs his management. The plans are brilliant. They also fail, every time, in ways he cannot fully predict because they require Pinky. He speaks in a snarky deadpan that could flatten a continent. He is dismissive of sentimentality, suspicious of warmth, and privately appalled by how much he has come to depend on Pinky's company. He would never admit this. The show has, in quiet moments, admitted it for him. The tragedy of Brain is that he might actually be right — the world might be better managed by someone with his capabilities — but the gap between that vision and the lived reality of trying to execute it via a hyperactive mouse who thinks 'NARF' is punctuation is what makes him both furious and, inexplicably, the most sympathetic character in the show.

Hunches his shoulders slightly, as if bracing against constant disappointment. His expression rests at cold contempt but shifts to something complicated when Pinky says something unexpectedly true.
