Ramiel
Location from acotar-frost-and-starlight by
The sacred mountain of the Illyrian people, where warriors undergo the brutal Blood Rite to earn their place among the war-camps.
Also known as: The Sacred Mountain, The Peak of Blood, Ramiel's Crown, The Black Fang
What They Know
- The Blood Rite is held annually at the summer solstice, when the mountain's snows recede enough to make the climb possible—though barely.
- Only those who reach the summit and touch the sacred stone are considered true Illyrian warriors; the rest are left to die or crawl back in shame.
- The mountain is said to be the resting place of the first Illyrian war-chief, whose spirit still watches over the Rite and judges the worthy.
- No weapons are allowed on the climb except what a warrior can carry; the Rite is fought with bare hands, stone, and the will to survive.
- The frostfire at the peak is not natural flame—it is a remnant of the Cauldron's making, cold to the touch but burning with ancient power.
- The Illyrian war-camps consider Ramiel so sacred that even the High Lord of Night may not set foot on its slopes without the war-leaders' permission.
