One of the three objects of the Dread Trove, the Crown grants its wearer dominion over the minds and wills of others, bending them to a single, unyielding purpose.

The Crown is a Made object of immense and terrible power, one of the three artifacts known collectively as the Dread Trove. It was created by the Cauldron itself, and its purpose is control—absolute, unbreakable control over the minds of others, reducing even the strongest-willed High Fae to a puppet dancing on the wearer's strings.

Appearance

Forged of dark, tarnished silver that seems to drink the light around it, the Crown is a circlet of interlocking, thorn-like prongs that curl inward as if to grip the skull. Its surface is etched with symbols older than the courts—spirals and sharp angles that shift when not directly looked at, and a single, faceted gem the color of dried blood sits at its brow, pulsing with a faint, malevolent glow.

• The Crown is one of three objects of the Dread Trove, alongside the Mask and the Harp, each said to be a fragment of the Cauldron's own power given form.

• The Crown's power is not subtle—it does not whisper or persuade; it commands, overriding the victim's will entirely, leaving them a hollow vessel for the wearer's desires.
• Legends say the Crown was worn by a tyrant king in the age before the courts, who used it to enslave an entire city until the Cauldron itself rose against him and scattered the Trove.
