The Cauldron

Item from acotar-frost-and-starlight by

The Cauldron is the primordial vessel from which the world and all magic were Made, the source and sink of all power in Prythian.

The Cauldron is not merely an object but a force older than the courts, older than the High Fae, older than memory. It is the vessel that Made the world, the mountains, the seas, and every creature that walks or flies or swims — and it can Unmake them just as easily. To be touched by the Cauldron is to be changed forever, and to be Made by it is to carry a piece of its will, whether you want it or not.

Appearance

It is a great, black iron cauldron, large enough to hold a grown fae, its surface etched with symbols that shift and writhe like living things. No fire burns beneath it, yet it steams with a cold, silver vapor that smells of salt and starlight and the deep places before the first dawn. To look into its depths is to see nothing — and to feel everything that ever was or will be, staring back.
