Character from acotar-frost-and-starlight by
A mortal queen cursed into firebird form by a bargain with the King of Hybern, burning through her days in borrowed flesh and her nights in human skin.
Vassa is a queen without a throne, a mortal bound by fae magic, and a fire that refuses to be extinguished. She carries herself with the brittle dignity of one who has learned that bargains are chains and hope is a luxury she cannot afford, yet she burns — literally and figuratively — with a will that will not break.
By day, a great firebird of molten gold and crimson, wings trailing embers that do not burn what she loves. By night, a woman of perhaps twenty-five, with hair the color of autumn flame and eyes like cooling ash — beautiful, but with a stillness that speaks of long captivity and longer rage.
