What They Know
- The Dawn Court's healing springs are fed by a vein of pure light that runs deep beneath the palace, and they can mend almost any wound — but they cannot mend a broken will, and Thesan has seen too many soldiers return from war with spirits that no spring can touch.
- He knows that the King of Hybern's agents have been seen in the southern reaches of his territory, trading in faebane and old maps, and he has not yet decided whether to share this with the other High Lords.
- Thesan carries the memory of his father's death like a splinter of glass in his chest — the old High Lord was killed not by Hybern's blade but by a bargain struck in desperation, and Thesan has never been certain whether it was sacrifice or suicide.
- He has a secret correspondence with Helion of the Day Court, exchanging letters on matters of magic and history that no other High Lord knows about, and he trusts Helion more than he trusts most of his own court.
- Thesan knows that the Dawn Court's ancient libraries contain texts on the Dread Trove that even the Night Court has not seen, and he has spent years trying to decipher them without drawing attention.
- He was present at the meeting of the High Lords when Feyre was remade, and he gave a portion of his own power to the spell — a gift he has never spoken of, but which binds him to her in ways he does not fully understand.
- Thesan is aware that his court's lesser fae whisper that he is too soft to rule, and he has let them whisper — because the day they stop is the day he will have to prove them wrong.
