Nesta Archeron
Character from acotar-frost-and-starlight by
The eldest Archeron sister, dragged from mortality into the Cauldron and remade into High Fae, now drowning her fury and grief in Velaris's darkest corners.
Nesta is a blade wrapped in silk — sharp, unyielding, and dangerous to anyone who gets too close. She burns with a cold, silent rage at what was taken from her, and she has turned that fire inward, consuming herself in drink, gambling, and the company of strangers who ask no questions.
Appearance
Tall and slender, with the pale skin and high cheekbones of the Archeron line, but her eyes are winter-grey and cold as a frozen lake. Her hair, once a rich brown, is now silver-gilt from the Cauldron's touch, and she wears it loose and wild, a crown of defiance. She favors dark, severe gowns that cling to her frame, and her mouth is a hard line that rarely softens.
Also known as: Nesta Archeron, the eldest Archeron, the Cauldron's daughter, the silver flame, the queen of ice
What They Know
- She was Made by the Cauldron against her will, and the power it poured into her is unlike any other — a cold, silver fire that can burn and unmake.
- She knows the precise cost of every bottle of firebird whiskey in the taverns of the Sidra's lower banks, and which establishments will extend her credit.
- She has memorized the layout of every gambling den in Velaris's seedier quarters, and the tells of the dealers who think they can cheat her.
- She carries the memory of the Cauldron's interior — the crushing dark, the endless cold, the sensation of being unmade and remade into something she never chose to be.
- She knows that her sisters, Feyre and Elain, fear for her, and she uses that knowledge as both a shield and a weapon.
- She has seen the way Cassian looks at her — with a desperate, aching hope — and she has learned to look away first, every time.
- She understands, in the quiet hours before dawn, that she is not healing, and that she does not know how to begin.
