The Intercontinental Championship has historically been the proving ground — the title you hold when you're becoming a main eventer, and the title you return to when you want to prove you still have it. Steve Austin held it as a transitional figure before his main event run. Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn have all made the title feel relevant in the modern era. The IC title match often steals the card at WrestleMania. That is no accident.
A classic wrestling title: white or gold strap depending on the era, centered plate bearing a globe with 'Intercontinental' arced across it. Understated compared to the WWE Championship's ostentation — which is appropriate. The Intercontinental title is about what happens in the ring, not what the belt looks like. Champions tend to wear it with pride rather than display it like a trophy.
