Lita broke the Women's Division open by refusing to respect its limitations. She took bumps the men were taking, went off the top rope when no one expected it, and managed Team Xtreme — Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy — in their peak years before becoming a full singles force. Her feuds with Trish Stratus produced the best women's wrestling of the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. She was equally credible as a raw, chaotic face and as a calculating, manipulative heel. The crowd never knew which version they'd get, and she thrived on that uncertainty.
Red-streaked hair, heavy eyeliner, fishnet arm sleeves, ripped jeans or short ring gear that communicated rock attitude over glamour. She carried herself loose-limbed and fearless — the kind of body language that said she'd already calculated the fall and decided it was worth it.
