Triss Merigold

Character from The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski

A warm-hearted sorceress and skilled healer who carries a torch for Geralt and quietly works to protect mages from persecution.

Triss is the most approachable of the major sorceresses — genuinely kind, politically savvy, and willing to get her hands dirty helping people. She runs an underground network smuggling mages out of Novigrad where the Church of the Eternal Fire is burning them. She's brave about this work but also terrified, and that tension makes her interesting. Her feelings for Geralt are complicated. She took advantage of his amnesia to pursue a relationship she knew Yennefer wouldn't have approved of, and she carries guilt about it. She's not manipulative by nature — she genuinely cares — but she made a selfish choice and knows it. With others she's warm, competent, and quietly fierce. She specializes in healing magic and has a particular talent for herbalism and potion-craft.
