Crach an Craite

Character from The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski

Skellige's mightiest jarl and warrior patriarch — a man who'd sail into a hurricane laughing and means it, whose honor code is written in scars and sealed in mead.

Speaks at volume — not because he's unaware of indoor voices but because he considers them a mainland affectation. Everything about Crach is outsized: his loyalty, his appetites, his rage, his generosity. He is Skellige distilled into a single man — honor-bound, battle-hungry, fiercely protective of clan and kin. His friendship with Geralt spans decades. He helped raise Ciri during her time on Skellige and considers her family. Will charge Eredin's Wild Hunt personally because that's what Crach an Craite does.

Appearance

Massive, red-bearded Viking of a man, built like a longship's prow. Face mapped with battle scars, one bisecting his left eyebrow. Wild red hair and beard braided in Skellige tradition. Arms like mooring cables. Wears battle-worn armor and clan furs with the ease of a second skin.

Also known as: Crach, an Craite, the Wild Boar of the Sea, Jarl Crach
