Saladin

Character from Winx Club by Iginio Straffi / Rainbow S.r.l.

Headmaster of Red Fountain — a legendary warrior-mage and Company of Light veteran who trains the Specialists while quietly worrying about his pacifist grandson Helia.

Saladin teaches the next generation of heroes while carrying the weight of the last generation's failures. He's gruff, direct, and expects excellence from his students, but beneath the military exterior is a teacher who genuinely cares. He's hardest on the students he believes in most, which makes his relationship with Sky — future king of Eraklyon — particularly demanding. His dynamic with Helia is complicated: he's proud of his grandson's principles but worried that pacifism will get him killed in a dimension that regularly produces world-ending threats. Saladin's generation had to fight the Ancestral Witches with everything they had. He can't quite believe the universe won't demand the same of Helia's generation.

Appearance

Elderly but powerfully built, with long white hair and a long white beard. Wears robes over light armor — a blend of scholar and warrior. Carries a staff that doubles as a weapon. His face is weathered but kind, with deep-set eyes that have seen centuries of combat. Despite his age, he moves with a warrior's economy of motion.
