Location from When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker
The golden grasslands of The Burn where warrior clans forge the finest fighters in Ayrithia — and where Kaan earned his first crown before he took his second.
The Boltanic Plains are where The Burn's warrior culture is purest. The clans that live here — the Johkull foremost among them — train from childhood in combat, horsemanship, and dragon-riding. The culture values directness, physical prowess, and honor above all else. Political scheming is considered a weakness; if you have a problem with someone, you face them. Kaan was raised here as Oah of the Johkull Clan before claiming the throne of The Burn. The Plains shaped him more than the throne did — his directness, his sense of fairness, his discomfort with Shade-style manipulation all come from Boltanic values. The clans still consider him one of their own, which gives him a base of military loyalty no court politics can erode.
Vast golden grasslands stretching to every horizon, broken by occasional rocky outcroppings and clan settlements. The grass catches fire in certain seasons, and the plains glow with natural burns that clear old growth and renew the soil. Clan settlements are mobile or semi-permanent — built for a culture that values movement and martial readiness. At sunset, the entire plain turns molten gold.
