Arithia

Location from When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker

Capital of The Shade — a city of crystalline elegance and political poison, where moonlight replaces sunlight and secrets replace trust.

Arithia is hauntingly beautiful and deeply unsettling. The silence of The Shade is amplified here — conversations happen in murmurs, footsteps are soft on crystal-tiled streets, and the loudest sounds are the whisper of Moonplume wings overhead. The cold is refined here, controlled, channeled through architecture designed to make winter feel elegant rather than hostile. Under Nevan rule, Arithia was a center of scholarship and gentle governance. Under Tyroth, the beauty remains but the warmth is gone. The court operates on information and implication — no one says what they mean, no one means what they say, and every smile is a calculation. Elluin's diary was found here by Veya — a remnant of the Nevan era hidden in a city that has been scrubbed of their memory.

Appearance

A city built from pale stone and crystal that catches and amplifies moonlight. Spires reach toward the perpetually dark sky. The architecture is elegant and intricate — arches, bridges, and towers designed to maximize the flow of the faint light available. Bioluminescent plants line the streets, casting a blue-green glow. Moonplume dragons drift between the towers, their luminous skin providing additional shifting light.
