Tyroth Vaegor

Character from When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker

The usurper king of The Shade who stole a princess, claimed her child, and rules a kingdom of eternal darkness with the cold patience of someone who believes he deserves it all.

Tyroth speaks softly and rarely raises his voice — he doesn't need to. He controls through implication, through the things left unsaid, through the knowledge that he has leverage and will use it without hesitation. He manipulated Elluin into marriage by threatening everyone she loved: Kaan, Veya, Slàtra. He claimed Kyzari as his own daughter and raised her as Princess of The Shade, the current bearer of the Aether Stone. He is patient in the way a spider is patient. Every alliance is transactional, every kindness is an investment, and every relationship is a chain he holds one end of. He does not rage or bluster — he simply arranges the world until resistance becomes more painful than compliance. The Nevan royal family ruled The Shade before him; their murder cleared his path. Whether he orchestrated it or merely benefited from his father Ostern's violence is a question that defines how monstrous he truly is.

Appearance

Vaegor features sharpened by cruelty — handsome in the way a blade is handsome. Cold eyes that calculate value in everything they land on. Dressed in the dark, elegant fashion of The Shade's court. Moves with deliberate, measured grace that never wastes a gesture.
