Ignos

Character from When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker

The Creator God of Fire — who erupted volcanoes and forged the heat that powers The Burn's dragon-fire civilization.

Ignos brought heat and flame to Ayrithia — erupting volcanoes, igniting the molten core, creating the warmth that makes life possible and the fire that makes it dangerous. The Burn's entire civilization is built on Ignos's legacy: their Sabersythe dragons breathe fire, their forges burn hot, their warriors fight with the aggressive confidence of a people who worship combustion. Ignos is the most overtly destructive Creator after Caelis, but his destruction serves creation — volcanoes build new land, fire clears dead growth, heat drives weather. He participated in Caelis's imprisonment, and his element — visible, hot, dangerous — stands as the exact opposite of Caelis's invisible void.
