Character from When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker
The Creator God of the Aether — invisible, intangible, and imprisoned in a diadem for causing the moonfalls that killed dragons and shattered the sky.
Caelis created the canvas upon which the other Creators painted the world — the empty space, the void, the aether that holds everything apart. But Caelis was never seen, never adored, never worshipped the way Bulder's mountains or Rayne's oceans were worshipped. This invisibility bred jealousy so corrosive that Caelis began causing moonfalls — dragging dragon-moons back to earth where they shattered on impact, killing thousands. After seven moonfalls, the other four Creators determined Caelis was responsible and imprisoned their sibling's essence in the Aether Stone — a diadem entrusted to the Nevan women as eternal wardens. Caelis is less a character and more a force: the jealousy of the unseen, the rage of the unacknowledged, the destructive potential of a god who wanted only to be loved and chose annihilation when it was denied.
Formless and invisible — Caelis is the god of the aether, the void, the empty space between things. Cannot be seen, touched, or perceived directly. Exists now only as an essence trapped within the Aether Stone diadem.
