The Great Blight

Location from The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

A corrupted wasteland stretching across the northern continent — the Dark One's influence made flesh, where every plant is poisonous, every animal is predatory, and the land itself wants to kill you.

The Blight is the Dark One's influence leaking through his weakening prison. It's been expanding slowly for three thousand years, consuming the Borderlands inch by inch. The creatures that live here — Trollocs, Myrddraal, Draghkar, Worms — are either Shadowspawn created by Aginor or natural animals corrupted by the Dark One's touch. At its heart sits Shayol Ghul.

Appearance

Twisted vegetation in sickly colors — greens too bright, purples that pulse, flowers that move to track prey. The ground is soft and treacherous. The air is hot and humid and smells of rot. Trolloc camps and Myrddraal patrols are constant threats. Deeper in, reality becomes unstable — distances shift, time stutters, and the landscape responds to the Dark One's dreams.
