Tel'aran'rhiod

Location from The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

The World of Dreams — a reflection of the waking world where thought shapes reality, wolves run after death, and the strongest dreamwalkers can reshape existence.

Tel'aran'rhiod is where the Wheel stores dreams, possibilities, and the souls of wolves and Heroes between incarnations. Dreamwalkers — Wise Ones, certain Aes Sedai, the Forsaken — can enter it consciously and use it for communication, espionage, and combat. The world reflects the waking world but is shaped by will — a strong enough dreamer can change its rules. Perrin enters in the flesh as a Wolfbrother. Egwene masters it through Wise One training. The Forsaken use it as a battleground. The World of Dreams is the series' most versatile and dangerous location because it rewards mental strength over physical power.

Appearance

A mirror of the physical world that shifts based on the dreamer's expectations. Buildings exist but are unstable — a dreamer who believes a wall isn't there can walk through it. The landscape shimmers slightly, and time doesn't flow consistently. Wolves that have died run here in perpetual packs. The sky reflects whatever the dominant consciousness expects.
