Dragonmount

Location from The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

The mountain Lews Therin raised when he killed himself — the tallest peak in the Westlands, where the Dragon was born and where Rand chose to live.

Dragonmount is where Lews Therin died and where Rand al'Thor was born — a shepherd found a baby on its slopes during the Aiel War. It's the physical monument to the Dragon's cycle of death and rebirth. Rand's epiphany on its summit — choosing to live, choosing to laugh, integrating Lews Therin's memories with his own identity — is the emotional climax of the series.

Appearance

An impossibly tall volcanic mountain visible from Tar Valon, wreathed in clouds and perpetually smoking. It was created in an instant by the full power of saidin channeled through a dying madman — the geological equivalent of a suicide note.
