The capital of Cairhien — a grid-planned city dominated by the Sun Palace and scarred by the Aiel War, where every street corner is a stage for the Great Game.

The city bears the scars of the Aiel War — the Topless Towers had their upper stories burned off by Aiel attackers and were never rebuilt, serving as permanent monuments to Cairhienin arrogance. The contrast between the ordered interior and the chaotic Foregate reflects the nation's class divisions.

Appearance

A geometrically planned city with straight streets intersecting at right angles. The Foregate — the slum district outside the walls — sprawls chaotically in contrast. The Sun Palace dominates the skyline, and the Topless Towers (their tops destroyed by the Aiel) serve as permanent reminders of past hubris.
