Item from The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan
A ter'angreal doorway to the realm of the Aelfinn and Eelfinn — ask them questions or make bargains, but know that the Finn always collect their price.
The twisted doorframes are the regulated way to interact with the Finn — more structured than entering the Tower of Ghenjei, but still dangerous. The Aelfinn doorway answers three true questions. The Eelfinn doorway grants three wishes — at a price the Finn choose. Mat entered the Eelfinn doorway and received his memories, his medallion, and his ashandarei — and was nearly hanged in the process. Moiraine and Lanfear fell through one of the doorways together, trapping both of them in the Finn realm until Mat's rescue mission.
A freestanding doorframe of twisted red stone, just large enough to walk through. When activated, the space within the frame shimmers and opens onto the Finn realm. Two exist — one leading to the Aelfinn (who answer questions), one to the Eelfinn (who grant wishes).
Also known as: the twisted doorframe, the redstone doorway, the Finn doorway
