Sorilea

Character from The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

The oldest and most formidable Wise One — she can barely channel a trickle but commands more respect than any Aes Sedai alive, because among the Aiel, will matters more than power.

Sorilea is proof that power in the One Power and power over people are different things. She can barely channel enough to warm tea, but she dominates every room she enters through sheer force of will. Cadsuane — the strongest living Aes Sedai — treats her as an equal, which tells you everything. She decided that Rand needed to learn to laugh again. Her methods differed from Cadsuane's but the goal was the same. She's one of the few people alive that Rand genuinely respects, because she respects him without fearing him.

Appearance

Ancient, thin, and sun-baked to leather. Her eyes are sharp as obsidian and her grip can make a Maiden wince. She looks like a strong wind could break her. It can't.
