Character from The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan
Clan chief of the Taardad Aiel — the first chief to accept Rand as the Car'a'carn and the steady, honorable warrior who became the Dragon's most reliable military commander.
Rhuarc is what Aiel honor looks like in practice — he accepted the Car'a'carn when the signs were confirmed, served faithfully without surrendering his judgment, and provided military counsel that Rand relied on throughout his campaigns. He treats Rand as both a prophesied leader and a young man who needs guidance, which is the most useful combination possible. He was killed at the Last Battle under Graendal's Compulsion — one of the cruelest deaths in the series, because it took a man defined by honor and used him as a puppet.
Tall and sun-weathered with the lean, dangerous build of an Aiel warrior. Grey-streaked dark hair and blue eyes. He wears the cadin'sor and carries his spears with the casual ease of decades of combat. His face is carved from years of wind and sun in the Waste.
