Couladin

Character from The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

A Shaido Aiel who falsely claimed to be the Car'a'carn — ambitious, violent, and killed by Mat Cauthon in a battle that proved the gambler's martial prowess.

Couladin was Sevanna's instrument — a Shaido warrior whose pride and ambition made him easy to manipulate into declaring himself the Car'a'carn with fake dragon marks. He led the Shaido across the Dragonwall in defiance of the real Car'a'carn and was killed by Mat in the battle at Cairhien.

Appearance

Tall and powerfully built with the red hair common to Aiel. He bore fake dragon tattoos on his arms — marks meant to prove his claim to the Car'a'carn title.
