A Forsaken spy reborn as a woman — originally an Age of Legends intelligence operative, killed at the Eye of the World and resurrected as Aran'gar to infiltrate the rebel Aes Sedai.
Balthamel was killed by the Green Man at the Eye of the World and reborn as Aran'gar in a female body — a male soul channeling saidin while appearing female, which made detection nearly impossible. As Halima, she infiltrated the rebel Aes Sedai camp, gave Egwene chronic headaches through subtle channeling, and gathered intelligence. She was eventually exposed and fled.
As Balthamel: masked and rotting from imperfect preservation. As Aran'gar/Halima: a strikingly beautiful dark-haired woman — the Dark One's cruel joke, placing a man's soul in a woman's body. As Halima, she served as Egwene's masseuse while channeling saidin (undetectable by female channelers).
