Location from Wednesday by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar
Nevermore's secret student society — hidden library, dark rituals, generational membership, and the kind of exclusivity that Wednesday initially refuses and then commandeers.
The Nightshades are Nevermore's secret society — a student organization with a hidden library, initiation rituals, and a history that connects to the school's founding. Morticia was a member during her time at Nevermore, which means Wednesday's recruitment carries family expectations she immediately resents. The Nightshades' hidden library contains historical records about Nevermore, Jericho, the Crackstone era, and outcast history that the official curriculum doesn't cover. Wednesday uses this archive as a primary research tool for her investigation, which means the secret society becomes useful despite her contempt for organized social activities. She eventually becomes a de facto leader of the group by sheer force of personality and investigative need.
The Nightshades operate from a hidden chamber within Nevermore — accessed through secret passages, decorated with the iconography of a student society that takes itself seriously: dark wood, candlelight, shelves of forbidden books, portraits of past members. The aesthetic is 'Skull and Bones but with actual supernatural students.'
