The Gates Family

Location from Wednesday by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar

Jericho's founding family — descendants of Joseph Crackstone who maintained his anti-outcast vendetta for four centuries until only Laurel was left to finish it.

The Gates family represents generational hatred — the kind of prejudice that passes from parent to child as naturally as hair color. Founded by Crackstone's descendants, they've maintained the pilgrim's vision of a world without outcasts through political influence, social manipulation, and ultimately Laurel's violent plan. They're the normie establishment's darkest expression: not ignorance of outcasts but active, informed malice toward them.

Appearance

The Gates family is felt more than seen — their influence is architectural (they built Jericho), institutional (their name is on buildings), and conspiratorial (their agenda has shaped the town's relationship with Nevermore for centuries). The family home suggests old money and old grudges.
