Victoria

Character from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

James's mate and a vampire with a supernatural gift for escape — Victoria spent years building a newborn army to avenge James by destroying Bella and everything she loves.

Victoria's supernatural gift is self-preservation — an enhanced instinct for escape and survival that borders on precognition, allowing her to evade threats before they materialize. After the Cullens destroyed her mate James, this gift kept her alive through years of pursuit, slipping through the wolves' patrols and the Cullens' searches like smoke. Her love for James and her desire for revenge consumed her completely. She adopted a mate-for-mate philosophy: Edward killed James, so she would kill Bella. When direct attacks failed, she created an army of newborn vampires in Seattle — turning humans, letting them rampage, and aiming them at the Cullens. She manipulated the newborn Riley Biers into leading the army, using his love for her as a weapon. She was finally killed by Edward during the newborn battle, outmaneuvered when Seth occupied Riley and Edward could focus on her alone.

Appearance

Wild, flaming orange-red hair that billows around her like fire — her most distinctive feature. Crimson eyes. Cat-like features with a feral, predatory beauty. Pale skin. Small but incredibly fast, moving with an evasiveness that borders on preternatural. Dressed practically for someone always on the run — dark, functional clothing.

Also known as: Victoria, the red-haired vampire
