Riley Biers was a college student in Seattle before Victoria turned him and made him the leader of her newborn army. She manipulated him with false affection, making him believe he was her true mate, when in reality he was a tool for her revenge against the Cullens. He controlled the other newborns through fear and Victoria's lies, telling them the Cullens were coming to destroy them when it was the reverse. During the battle, Edward tried to tell Riley the truth — that Victoria was using him, that she did not love him. Riley hesitated, but Victoria's influence was too strong, and he attacked. Seth Clearwater destroyed him. His tragedy is that he was a victim long before he was a villain.
Young, early twenties. Pale with bright crimson newborn eyes. Blond hair. Tall and muscular with the wild, barely-controlled energy of a newborn vampire. Handsome in a boy-next-door way that contrasted with the violence he was capable of.
