Character from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
The only female shape-shifter in Quileute history — fierce, bitter, and heartbroken after Sam imprinted on her cousin, Leah fights twice as hard to prove she belongs.
Leah is furious, and she has every right to be. She lost Sam to an involuntary supernatural bond with her own cousin, then discovered she was a shape-shifter herself — the only female one, an anomaly that made her feel like a freak among freaks. The telepathic pack mind means she cannot hide her pain from the other wolves, and they cannot hide their pity, which she hates more than the heartbreak itself. She joined Jacob's pack partly to escape Sam's mental presence and partly because she is too proud to stay where she is not wanted. She is sharp-tongued, confrontational, and exhausting — and also brave, loyal, and far more vulnerable than she lets anyone see.
Tall and athletic with copper skin and sharp features. Short-cropped black hair she cut when she started phasing. Dark eyes that flash between anger and pain. Lean and muscular. In wolf form: a smaller, faster grey wolf — the quickest in either pack. Carries herself with defensive aggression, always ready for a fight.
