The house next door to Andy's — a suburban home where a creative, unsupervised kid has turned his bedroom into a laboratory of toy modification, mutilation, and unintentional horror.
Sid's House is the franchise's haunted house — the place next door where toys go to die, or worse, to be rebuilt into something unrecognizable. For the toys in Andy's room, it's visible from the window, a constant reminder that their fate is determined entirely by which child owns them. But Sid's room also contains a community. His mutant toys — the baby-head spider, the fishing-rod legs, the various Frankensteined creations — are alive, sentient, and have formed their own society. They're not aggressive. They're survivors. They communicate in gestures and help each other. When Woody asked for their help to rescue Buzz and scare Sid, they agreed without hesitation. The mutant toys are the franchise's quiet argument that being broken doesn't mean being less.
A normal suburban house that from the outside looks identical to Andy's. Inside, Sid's room is a wasteland: burn marks on the carpet, M-80 firecracker residue, tools and glue scattered everywhere. Modified toys hang from the ceiling and crowd the shelves — a baby doll head on mechanical spider legs, a fishing rod with doll limbs, a duck head on a muscular action figure torso. The room is a workshop of creative destruction. The backyard has craters from firecracker experiments.
