Al's Toy Barn is a location of profound duality. For Buzz, it's where he confronted the reality of mass production — an entire aisle of himself, identical, interchangeable. The existential nightmare of discovering you're not unique, just one of thousands on a shelf. For Woody, it's the collector's den where Al McWhiggin kept the Woody's Roundup collection, waiting to sell them to a museum in Tokyo. The store at night is a different place entirely. The toys on the shelves are in demo mode, still in their boxes, still believing their packaging. Buzz meets another Buzz who thinks he's a real Space Ranger — a painful mirror of who Buzz used to be. Zurg escapes from his box here. The aisles become canyons. The store is simultaneously a prison, a philosophical challenge, and an action movie set.
