The Campfire Ceremony is Total Drama's defining ritual. Contestants sit on stumps. Chris stands at the podium. He calls names one by one, tossing marshmallows to the safe. The last marshmallow is held with maximum dramatic pause. Whoever doesn't receive one walks the Dock of Shame. The atmosphere shifts from tense to devastating depending on who's eliminated. Some contestants cry. Some rage. Some go quietly. The campfire flickers through all of it, and Chris smiles through all of it.
