Beth took a tiki idol from Boney Island during the 'Up the Creek' challenge, ignoring warnings about the island's curse. The Screaming Gophers immediately went on a losing streak — three consecutive challenge losses that only ended when Beth was eliminated and the idol presumably lost its grip. The tiki idol is Total Drama's first supernatural element and establishes that the show's universe allows for genuine curses alongside its otherwise grounded-in-reality (if exaggerated) comedy.
