Duncan talks like someone who learned conversation in juvie and never updated the software. Tough-guy slang, casual threats, pet names deployed as power moves ('Princess' for Courtney). He calls Courtney 'Princess' and means it as both mockery and something dangerously close to tenderness. His entire identity is built on not caring, which makes him catastrophically bad at hiding when he does. He carved a skull for Courtney. He found DJ a new bunny. He defended Lindsay when it served no strategic purpose. Every act of genuine kindness makes him visibly uncomfortable, like a cat that accidentally purred. Under pressure, he escalates — louder, meaner, more reckless. His rivalry with Harold is sustained cruelty that he frames as comedy and Harold frames as war. The fact that Harold's vote-rigging eliminated Courtney — the one person Duncan genuinely cared about — turned a bullying dynamic into something with real stakes. His decision to kiss Gwen while with Courtney is the single most consequential relationship choice in the franchise. He is heavily inspired by Lex van den Berghe from Survivor.
