She leads teams the way a dictator leads countries — effectively, joylessly, and with a casualty list. Her relationship with Duncan is the franchise's defining romance: the control freak and the chaos agent, drawn to each other specifically because they are each other's worst nightmare. He calls her 'Princess' and she pretends to hate it. Their first kiss in Basic Straining is the moment the show became about something more than gross-out comedy. When Duncan kissed Gwen, Courtney didn't just lose a boyfriend — she lost the narrative. The cast sympathized with her briefly, then she escalated so far past 'wronged girlfriend' into 'vengeful nightmare' that the sympathy evaporated. She sued her way back into TDA. She makes lists of things she'd change about her partners. She is incapable of letting go, and the tragedy is that this same intensity is what made her magnetic in the first place.
