Location from The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman (comics), Frank Darabont (TV), Telltale Games
A hidden coastal community of women and children — the men were massacred by Simon's Saviors, and the survivors retreated to the shore and vowed never to fight again, until the war came to them anyway.
Oceanside is what happens to communities that resist the Saviors and lose. Simon executed every male over the age of ten as punishment for defiance. The surviving women and children fled to the coast and built a hidden settlement based on fishing, secrecy, and a strict policy of killing any outsider who finds them. Their reluctance to join the war against Negan is completely understandable — the last time they fought, they lost everyone. Tara's accidental discovery and later recruitment of Oceanside for the final battle forces them to confront whether hiding is survival or just slow surrender.
A collection of rustic cabins and lean-tos on a secluded stretch of coastline, hidden by dense forest. Fishing nets, drying racks, and small boats along the shore. No walls — the isolation is the defense. Campfires on the beach. The sound of waves and seabirds. Women and children only, armed with spears and bows.
