Rick's Colt Python

Item from The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman (comics), Frank Darabont (TV), Telltale Games

A .357 Magnum revolver that Rick carried from the King County Sheriff's Department through every season — the visual signature of his authority and the old world's last badge.

The Python is Rick's connection to who he was before. He was a sheriff. This is a sheriff's weapon. Long after the badge is meaningless and the uniform is gone, the revolver remains — the last artifact of a world where law enforcement meant something. It's also wildly impractical. Six rounds. Thunderous report that attracts every walker within a mile. Heavy .357 ammunition that's harder to scavenge than 9mm. Rick carries it anyway because identity matters, even when it's dangerous. He passes it to Carl, who passes it to Judith. Three generations of Grimes authority encoded in a gun that should have been traded for something more practical years ago.

Appearance

A Colt Python .357 Magnum revolver with a six-inch barrel and nickel finish that catches light distinctively. Well-maintained despite apocalyptic conditions — Rick cleans it religiously. The grip is worn from years of daily carry. It's oversized and impractical for a survival weapon (loud, limited capacity, heavy ammunition), but Rick carries it anyway because it means something beyond function.
