Andrea

Character from The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman (comics), Frank Darabont (TV), Telltale Games

A civil rights lawyer who reinvented herself as a sharpshooter and made the fatal mistake of trying to broker peace with a monster — she saw the best in the Governor when everyone else saw the teeth.

Andrea's tragedy is that she was right about the principle and wrong about the person. She believed communities could coexist peacefully. She tried to broker a truce between the Prison and Woodbury because diplomacy was what the world needed. The flaw wasn't her idealism — it was her inability to see that the Governor was performing humanity, not practicing it. She's a skilled marksman who earned her competence through determination. She shot Daryl by accident, then trained obsessively to make sure it never happened again. She's proud, stubborn, and often isolated from the group because she makes choices they disagree with. Her death — bitten while trying to escape the Governor's torture chamber, choosing to end it on her terms — is a waste. The show knows it's a waste. That's the horror.

Appearance

Tall and blonde with sharp, determined features and blue eyes that project confidence even when she's unsure. Athletic build that hardens over the series. She transitions from suburban professional clothing to practical survivor gear and eventually Woodbury's relative comfort. She carries a pistol she earned from Dale and later takes up a rifle.
