The Springfield DMV is the slow, grinding institutional process that all Springfield residents must navigate. Patty and Selma manage it with the authority of people who understand that they control something everyone needs and no one can shortcut. Homer has had his license suspended and restored here. The process took longer than it should have.

Appearance

The standard DMV configuration: waiting area with numbered tickets, counters behind bulletproof glass (possibly), fluorescent lighting, and the particular emotional atmosphere of a place where everyone is waiting and no one wants to be there.
