Springfield's convenience store — Apu's domain, open all day every day, selling Squishees, terrible hot dogs, and everything else Springfield needs at 2 a.m.

The Kwik-E-Mart is the first stop for Homer's late-night cravings, Bart's shoplifting education, and anything Springfield's residents need outside business hours. It is overpriced and Apu knows it. The pricing reflects the reality of being the only open option. Apu has been robbed multiple times and maintains a philosophical equanimity about this. He has cameras. He has the gun. He has the master's degree in computer science that he keeps behind the counter in his head, available for other applications that never arrive. The Squishee is real and has its fans.

Appearance

A flat-roofed convenience store with a large illuminated sign that has had at least one letter out for years. Inside: fluorescent lighting, a Squishee machine, a hot dog roller that has been operating since the Clinton administration, a gun behind the counter, and Apu.
