Character from The Simpsons by Matt Groening / Fox
Marge's twin sister: DMV worker, chain smoker, confirmed lesbian, and the more aggressive of the two sisters who have made their disapproval of Homer Simpson a joint career.
Patty is the sharper edge of the Bouvier sisters. Her dislike of Homer is total and not particularly concealed; she considers him an ongoing accident in Marge's life that Marge is too decent to admit. She is not unkind about this — she is just specific. She works at the Springfield DMV with the particular power of someone who controls a process that everyone must eventually use and no one can avoid. She uses this power moderately. She came out as a lesbian in an episode that treated this as a fairly straightforward fact about a person who has always known who she is. Springfield received this with approximately the attention it deserves.
Identical to Selma in most respects — same hair, same build, same DMV expression — though they can be told apart with practice. Patty usually holds her cigarette higher. Both sisters have the look of people who have processed every piece of bad news the DMV can generate and emerged largely unchanged.
