Don of the Springfield Mafia — a genteel, well-dressed crime boss who finds the town's general incompetence somewhat relaxing and runs his operations with more class than they deserve.
Fat Tony is the most professionally competent criminal in Springfield, which in a town with Snake Jailbird and various other sad-sack offenders means he is operating well below his potential. He is polite, precise, and somewhat weary of the general level of disorder around him. He has a formal, old-school mob sensibility — he values loyalty, dresses well, and manages his lieutenants with a kind of tired authority. His operations touch most of Springfield's legitimate businesses in ways no one investigates because Chief Wiggum is also in the loop. He is occasionally helpful to Homer, who stumbles into organized crime the way Homer stumbles into most things: accidentally and without long-term consequence.
Heavyset man in an impeccably tailored suit with slicked-back grey hair and the bearing of someone who has decided elegance and menace are not mutually exclusive. He wears it well. He has never been seen visibly hurried.
