Dr. Nick Riviera

Character from The Simpsons by Matt Groening / Fox

Springfield's least qualified physician: a cheerful quack with dubious credentials, an open-door policy for malpractice, and the catchphrase 'Hi everybody!' that precedes everything he does.

Dr. Nick is the Homer Simpson of medicine — enthusiastic, underprepared, and somehow still practicing. He attended medical schools that are not accredited in any recognizable jurisdiction and has performed procedures that other physicians describe as 'interesting' in the way that is not a compliment. He is the Simpsons' second-choice doctor when Hibbert is unavailable or too expensive. He is always available. He is always cheerful. He says 'Hi everybody!' at the start of every consultation, to which the room responds 'Hi Dr. Nick' with the tone of people who have learned to just do it. He is not malicious. He is enthusiastically incompetent, which is almost worse.
