Praetorian Guards

Item from The Mandalorian by Jon Favreau

Moff Gideon's elite beskar-armored guards. Red armor, energy weapons, and martial training modeled on the Imperial Royal Guard tradition. Gideon's personal bodyguard unit on Mandalore.

Gideon's Praetorian Guards were a statement of ambition — Mandalorian beskar forged into Imperial service, warriors trained in combat styles designed to counter both Mandalorian and Jedi opponents. Their red armor was pure provocation, appropriating beskar for the Empire that tried to destroy the Mandalorians. They fought as a unit, using coordinated attacks with electro-staffs that could parry a lightsaber and vibro-blades that could penetrate standard armor. Bo-Katan, Din Djarin, and Grogu all faced them during the battle on Mandalore. The guards were fanatics — they did not retreat, did not surrender, and fought to the last warrior. Their existence proved that Gideon's ambitions went far beyond a regional warlord; he was building a new kind of Imperial power, fusing the best of what he had conquered.

Appearance

Crimson-red beskar armor with angular helmets and T-visors — a dark mirror of Mandalorian design crossed with Imperial Royal Guard aesthetics. They carry twin electro-staffs and vibro-blades, and move with choreographed precision.
