Item from The Mandalorian by Jon Favreau
Ancient black-bladed lightsaber created by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian Jedi. Symbol of Mandalorian leadership. Must be won in combat — its blade grows heavy for those who fight against its will.
The Darksaber is the throne of Mandalore made portable. Whoever wields it has the right to rule — but only if they won it in combat. The blade is unique among lightsabers: flat rather than cylindrical, black as void with a white corona of energy that flickers and sparks. It responds to the wielder's emotional state — fighting it makes it impossibly heavy, while yielding to its pull makes it light as thought. Moff Gideon took it from Bo-Katan. Din Djarin won it from Gideon. Bo-Katan struggled with its legitimacy because Din tried to give it to her rather than lose it in combat. The weapon carries the weight of Mandalorian history in every swing.
A lightsaber with a flat, sword-shaped blade of pure black energy edged with crackling white light. The hilt is angular, distinctly Mandalorian in design — dark metal with geometric lines. When ignited, it hums with a deeper, more aggressive tone than a standard lightsaber.
