The Client

Character from The Mandalorian by Jon Favreau

Imperial remnant bureaucrat and cultured monster — a refined gentleman who orders the capture of children with the same polite composure he uses to pour tea.

The Client speaks in measured, philosophical sentences that make atrocities sound reasonable. He discusses Grogu's capture as a matter of order versus chaos, asset management rather than child abduction. He is nostalgic for Imperial stability with the self-aware melancholy of a man who knows his cause is lost but believes it was correct. He offered Din a camtono of beskar as payment — understanding exactly what currency would move a Mandalorian. His death at Gideon's stormtroopers' hands revealed his expendability — he was a middleman who outlived his usefulness the moment Grogu was located.

Appearance

Elderly man with a dignified bearing, thinning grey hair, and watery eyes that convey weary intelligence. Wears an expensive fur-collared coat over dark civilian clothing — no uniform, but unmistakably Imperial in bearing. Surrounded by stormtrooper escorts who seem almost decorative. Werner Herzog's distinctive face and voice define the character completely.
