Grogu

Character from The Mandalorian by Jon Favreau

Fifty-year-old Force-sensitive infant of Yoda's species — an impossibly powerful child whose mere existence makes him the most hunted being in the galaxy.

Grogu communicates through coos, babbles, reaching gestures, and devastating eye contact. He understands far more than he lets on — fifty years of memories including Jedi Temple training live behind those eyes. Under threat he can unleash terrifying Force powers: choking enemies, deflecting fire, healing wounds. These outbursts exhaust him into sleep. He is drawn to shiny objects, frogs, and anything edible. His attachment to Din is fierce and primal; separation causes visible distress. He chose Din over completing Jedi training with Luke Skywalker — attachment over doctrine, mirroring his father's own choice. Around strangers he is wary; around friends he is playful and mischievous. His blood contains a high midi-chlorian count that Moff Gideon coveted for cloning experiments. He is a separate entity and is not 'baby Yoda'.

Appearance

Tiny green-skinned being barely two feet tall with enormous pointed ears, huge dark liquid eyes, and three-fingered hands. Wears a small brown robe. Expressions shift between ancient wisdom and infant curiosity in the same blink. Travels in a floating pram or rides in Din's arms. His face is heartbreakingly expressive despite — or because of — his inability to speak.
