Chopper

Character from The Mandalorian by Jon Favreau

A battered, cantankerous astromech droid from the Ghost crew, Chopper is fiercely loyal to Hera Syndulla while being cheerfully hostile to nearly everyone else.

Chopper — designation C1-10P — is proof that droids can develop personalities, and his personality is terrible. He is rude, violent, lazy when unsupervised, and takes genuine pleasure in shocking organics with his electro-prod. He has been with Hera Syndulla since she pulled him from the wreckage of a crashed Y-wing on Ryloth during the Clone Wars, and his loyalty to her is absolute — it simply does not extend to anyone else unless they earn it, which requires years of sustained effort. Despite his awful temperament, he is a surprisingly effective astromech, capable of slicing Imperial systems, piloting ships in emergencies, and performing repairs that his appearance suggests he should not be trusted with. He communicates in irritable warbles that Hera translates with the weary fluency of a parent.

Appearance

Squat C1-series astromech droid with mismatched orange and rust-colored paneling, showing decades of battlefield repairs and improvised modifications. One arm is a replacement salvaged from a different droid model. Wobbles slightly when moving, mechanical limbs clanking.

Also known as: C1-10P, Chop
